Answers to common questions

1. Does MailRider work with Outlook Express?

NO. It can be viewed in Outlook Express but can't be sent from Outlook Express.

2. I've built my ad and configured Outlook but the ad doesn't show up when I send a new mail.

See item 2 & 3 of Step 7.

3. Sometimes when I reply to an email my ad turns into a regular text signature instead of the MailRider ad. Why?

When a sender doesn't have their mail program configured to view HTML mail, Outlook automatically creates a text version of your MailRider ad and replies with it instead of the HTML file. Otherwise the viewer would receive no signature. hair cutting games

4. I don't like the text version of MailRider that Outlook is sending out. Can I edit it?

Yes. You can open it in Notepad and edit it there. The file will be easy to identify. It has the same name as your MailRider HTML file. The only difference is it will have a file extension of TXT and it is located in the same folder. cheapest international phone card

5. If the MailRider ad can only be sent using Outlook does this mean only Outlook users will be able to view it?

No. All mail programs capable of viewing HTML mail will be able to see your ad. This includes, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Excite, About, Outlook Express, *Eudora, etc. So long as they have HTML selected as their default reading format.
NOTE! Eudora does not support images. If you use an image file for the background or logo it will not appear using the Eudora mail program.

6. Why is there a square background around my logo?

JPG and GIF images always have a background color unless you export your GIF as a transparent GIF. This creates an invisible background for GIF images. The solution for JPG images is to either make the background of your MailRider ad the same color as the background of your image or make the background color of the image the same color as the background of your ad.

7. My logo has been replaced with a box and red X. Where did the image go?

The image file you used in your card has either been moved from its original location or deleted. Locate the image and save it back to its original location.

8. Why do I only see a small portion of my background image?

The image is too large. When this is the case you will only see the upper left side of the image. The card is 270px X 162 px. Try to resize your image to fit the 270px X 162px specification.

9. I want to use a color that isn't in the MailRider palette. Is this possible?

Yes. Just enter the hexadecimal value into the color text box. Be sure to include the # sign before the digits!

10. I'd like to use a different font for our company name. Is this possible?

Yes, but you will have to create a graphic using the font you prefer. Then use it as a logo image. The reason it has to be created in this manner is because a HTML document (your MailRider file) is very limited in the typestyles that can be displayed. This workaround should yield the results you are looking for.

11.

I tried to use my MailRider card but it looked "broken" and out of aligment. How do I fix this?

Actually there is nothing wrong with your card. Outlook displays it in an incomplete manner but sends it perfectly.

12. MailRider and Eudora.

Eudora will work with your MailRider ad as long as it doesn't contain graphic images.

13. The background or logo images repeats. How do I stop this?

Resize the offending graphic in a graphics editing program to the recommended sizes at the top of the build pages.

14. Can I add live links to my card?

Not at this time but this feature is coming soon.

15. Why doesn't my background image show up?
When using a background image be sure to delete the color card color on the horizontal card or the top & bottom color on the vertical card. Otherwise the colors cover the image.
