Why does my website take so long to load? |
| |
Two factors come into play. The viewers Internet
connection (dial-up modem or high speed connection)
and the weight of the web page. The access speed
can't be controlled on our end but we can control
the weight of your web page. The weight of your
website is determined by the HTML file size and
ALL of the other elements that load with the page
combined such as graphics, photographs, Flash interactives
and any other content. Add the total of all the
loading content file sizes. Weights of 100K+ should
be used only for high end sites with customers willing
to wait to view the page.

What's the difference between GIF images and
JPG images? |
| |
GIF and JPG are the 2 primary image formats used
for the web. Generally GIF images are used for graphics
and other elements that don't have a lot of blended
colors. JPG images are generally photographic images.
You can convert photographic images to GIF format
but the quality will be less and the the file size
will be substantially larger.

Is there a quick and easy way to get my website
listed with the search engines? |
| |
Yes, there are many Web based services that will,
for a fee, optimize your Web pages and submit them
for inclusion to all the major search engines. This
is also a service we provide.

I'm interested in using one of those services
that build and host websites for a very small fee.
What are the pros and cons.
|
| |
Generally the end product is marginal at best.
The fee is low but you end up with a website that
doesn't have the punch and targeting that you need
to be successful. The vast majority of current websites
are very poor quality and don't present their massage
in an effective way. Surf around looking for a good
website, one that catches your eye and is appealing
to you. You'll find there are few and far between.
This low level of effectiveness has set the bar
so low that most people view this as the accepted
level of expectation.
